Merritt Pump Station/ Everglades Restoration

The Merritt Pumping Station is part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) taking place in Southwest Florida. The three large pump stations transport water, gathered from canals, to less populated areas in the Everglades to restore the wetlands.
Hydrostatic pressure from the high water table and failed original waterproofing applications caused the pump station rooms, 20 feet below grade, to fill with roughly eight feet of water. Xypex Concentrate and Modified dosed the walls and Patch’n Plug repaired the tie holes. Standard repair detail for the slab and wall interfaces followed and after 7-10 days, all 6 pump rooms were completely dry.
