Sanitation Wet Well Manholes Resurfacing

Xypex Bio-San C500 was specified for the waterproofing and microbial induced corrosion protection of two pump station wet wells. However, there were a number of precast units that were inadvertently dosed with Xypex Admix C-500 in place of the Bio-San C500. To ensure the protection from MIC, Xypex Megamix II with Xypex Bio-San C500 was specified for the waterproofing and microbial induced corrosion protection of two pump station wet wells. However, there were a number of precast units that were inadvertently dosed with Xypex Admix C-500 in place of the Bio-San C500. To ensure the protection from MIC, Xypex Megamix II with Bio-San was subsequently applied to the interior surface of these precast units at a 3/4” thickness. A total of 120 – 55 lbs bags of Megamix II + Bio-San were utilized. For those units that were dosed with Bio-San C500, a total of 150 lbs of the Bio-San C500 additive was incorporated into the concrete for the wet well lids, thus providing the requisite waterproofing and MIC protection. 

Blackwater Engineers were satisfied with the concrete’s long-term protection that included a combination of Admix C-500, Megamix II + Bio-San and Bio-San C500. Bio-San was subsequently appliedto the interior surface of these precast units ata 3/4” thickness. A total of 120 – 55 lbs bags of Megamix II + Bio-San were utilized. For those units that were dosed with Bio-SanC500, a total of 150 lbs of the Bio-San C500 additive was incorporated into the concrete for the wet well lids, thus providing the requisite waterproofing and MIC protection.
